Pamela Anderson has slammed Prime Minister Scott Morrison for his comments about her to a commercial radio station, labelling them "smutty" and "unnecessary". In an open letter, the activist and former Baywatch star took Morrison to task over his comments, and called on him to help fellow Australian Julian Assange, with whom she has struck up a close friendship.

Donald Trump said he refuses to listen to an audio recording of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi's death, saying it would change his response. The CIA concluded that Khashoggi's violent death was ordered by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, but Trump dismissed this finding as "possible" but "very premature", and told Fox News on Sunday night that he wants to "stick with an ally that in many ways has been very good".

The brutal slaying of a Queensland teenager in her family home almost 30 years ago will be re-examined in an inquest expected to run for three weeks. Annette Mason was bludgeoned to death in 1989 when she was 15 years old, but despite an investigation with more than 25 witnesses, the coroner was unable to establish the identity of her killer.

The death toll from California's deadliest ever wildfire has risen to 76, while authorities sift through the charred wreckage for signs of the 1,276 people still missing. Rain is expected this week, potentially helping douse fires but bringing with it a risk of floods and mudslides.

The cast of beloved sitcom Scrubs reunited at the Vulture Festival in Los Angeles after almost a decade off the air, with series creator Bill Lawrence confirming he's keen to produce a short movie. Formula 3 driver Sophia Floersch is undergoing surgery, after she fractured her spine in a horrific high-speed crash in Macau. The 17-year-old German lost control of her car and flew off the track -- and into photographers -- at speeds of just under 280km/h. Miraculously, no one died, but four others were treated for injuries.
