Council Worker Makes Grim Discovery While Mowing At Park
Police say the body was found in a park near a playground and are treating the incident as suspicious.
The body of a woman was found by a Council worker who was mowing the lawn in Buffalo Creek Reserve at Hunters Hill on Wednesday morning.
Police and emergency services have since established a crime scene but said it was still too early to identify the body.
Police have also spent the morning conducting a large line search through the Field of Mars reserve located across the road from where the body was found.
The woman's body has not yet been moved as forensics remain on scene.
A line of evidence markers at the scene suggests the victim may have been dragged to the location from the car park.
On Wednesday Superintendent David Waddell said it was too early to determine whether there was CCTV in the area but they were canvassing the area for evidence.
"We are conducting canvasses and will obviously widen our searches once the crime scene investigation has been completed," Waddell said.
Ten Eyewitness News understands the park is a popular spot in the area, particularly during the school holiday period.
More to come.
