Queensland Roads: Two Pedestrian Deaths in 24 Hours

Both pedestrians died after trying to cross the road.

A woman has died after being struck by a bus in Brisbane on Tuesday morning.

Queensland Police said the woman was crossing Ann Street when she was hit by a Brisbane City Council bus just before 7am.

The woman was treated at the scene by paramedics, however later died.

Commuters faced delays of up to 30 mins, but roads were reopened by 9am.

Meanwhile, an elderly woman has died after being hit by a truck in Queensland's southwest.

The 84-year-old was hit as she crossed the Warrego Highway.  She was air lifted to Toowoomba hospital, where she later passed away.

The incident occurred at 8am on Monday.

This comes after an elderly man died after he was hit by a bus in Hornsby in Sydney's north on Sunday.

There were a total of 87 road deaths across Australia in April 2018 alone.
