An 11-year-old girl who went missing from Sydney's Sutherland Shire on Monday morning has been found safe and well.
Jacinta Laverance had last been seen near Amaroo Street in Sylvania Heights before she disappeared, sparking a huge police search operation.
NSW police confirmed the girl had been located near AR Hurst Reserve in Sylvania almost five hours since she was reported missing.
The girl's family had serious concerns for her welfare due to her age and said her disappearance was out of character.
Her parents thanked police and the community on Monday for assistance in finding their daughter.
"We're just really pleased that it's ended in a really good result, with Jacinta coming home to her loving family," her emotional father said.
Locals, Sutherland Police Area Command, Polair and the Dog Unit all search the surrounding areas.
Jacinta was last seen wearing purple and aqua pyjamas with sneakers.
Police thanked the public and media for assistance in finding the girl.
