NSW Bushfires Are Out

For the first time in eight months, all of the fires across NSW are now out.

The NSW Rural Fire Service declared the state free of bush or grass fires on Monday, after battling blazes for more than 240 days straight.

But the conversation quickly turned to what caused the extreme fire conditions that devastated much of the country's south-east this summer, with a ground-breaking report ruling climate change was a huge factor.

According to some official fire danger ratings, Australia's risk of having a fire season as bad as this years has increased by nine times, compared to 1900.

Children's Car Seat Pulled From Shelves

A children's car seat has been pulled from Australian shelves after it 'catastrophically' failed a recent NRMA drive test.

The Joie I-Travvel Signature Convertible Safety Seat was found during a Car Restraint Evaluation Program (CREP) to have ejected a dummy representing a child.

The seat retailed for more than $600. Joie has defended the car seat's safety, claiming the test falls outside official Australian Safety Standards, which it meets.

At Least 25 Killed In U.S. Tornadoes

At least 25 people were killed as devastating tornadoes ripped through the U.S. state of Tennessee this week.

A line of storms barrelled the state from Monday, turning into three tornadoes that carved a path through the city of Nashville, causing widespread damage and leaving tens of thousands of people without power.

Aussies Into T20 World Cup Final

Australia beat South Africa by five runs in a dramatic women's Twenty20 World Cup semi-final on Thursday, setting up a date with India in the decider.

In a dramatic night at the SCG, Australia's 5-134 became a target of 98 from 13 overs for South Africa, before they held them to 5-92 in a thrilling finish.

The Queensland Rugby League's Men of League Foundation announced on Thursday they were assisting Webb to battle the irreversible disease that attacks the nervous system.
