Powerful images from the country's bushfire-ravaged communities tell stories of the intense camaraderie and hope shared by the thousands of Australians who have been forced to either flee or fight during the crisis.
Firefighters, many of them volunteers, have worked long hours, day after day, to help defend homes, cars, and lives.
And as the drama and tragedy unfold, thousands of pictures are coming through from all corners of the country, sharing an intimate look at how those affected are responding.
