Man Dies Days After He And His Wife Are Shot In Tragic NYE Attack

A man has died just days after his wife following a tragic shooting on the front porch of their Melbourne home.

Veton Musai, 29, died at The Alfred Hospital on Wednesday from injuries he sustained in the same shooting that killed his 25-year-old wife, Lindita.

The couple had only been married for a year.

A family member confirmed the death on Facebook, writing: "Rest in peace Lindita Musai and Veton.

"You were beautiful inside and out, you can now be together in the afterlife too."

Another wrote: "Still in shock from this tragedy that has broken our family and our hearts."

"You two were a match made in heaven and now have entered heaven together.

"Rest In Peace Love Birds, Rest In Peace Veton and Lindita."

They were both allegedly gunned down out the front of their home on Salisbury Street in Yarraville.

Emergency services were called to the home about 10.30am on Tuesday, where they found the couple.

Mrs Musai had died at the scene, and Mr Musai was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

Police said the pair had both been shot in the upper body, and allege a firearm was found at the scene.

Another man, a 55-year-old from Altona North, was taken to hospital under police guard with what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

Police said the three people are known to each other and while police investigations continue, they are not looking for any other offenders.
