Swimmer Airlifted By Chopper After Being Hit By Boat
A 24-year-old man has sustained serious injuries after he was hit by a boat at a beach in Sydney's south-east.
Emergency services were called to Yarra Bay Road, in Phillip Bay, about 1pm on Saturday following reports the swimmer had been hit by a leisure boat.
The man was not responsive when paramedics arrived on the scene, according to a 10 News First journalist who witnessed the aftermath.
Paramedics treated the 24-year-old man for cuts to his abdomen and arm before he was taken to St George Hospital in a serious condition, police said.
The 24 year old is now stable, a hospital spokesperson confirmed to 10 daily.
Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command and Water Police established a crime scene and seized the boat for examination.
The skipper of the boat, also 24, was breath-tested and returned a negative result. Police said he is assisting police with enquiries.
