Details Emerge About Newborn Twin Sisters' Tragic Co-Sleeping Deaths
The pair, who were found unconscious in their mother's bed in Brisbane, have been named as six-week-old girls Violet and Indiana.
In what's understood to be a co-sleeping tragedy, paramedics were called to the Sunnybank Hills home on Wednesday, where one of the girls was found dead, while her twin was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
Sadly, she died the next day. Their deaths are not being treated as suspicious.
"Preliminary investigations suggest the babies were sleeping together throughout the night and were discovered unresponsive in the morning," police said in a statement last week.
A Go Fund Me page has now been established by a family friend to help raise money for their 'heartbroken' parents and older brother and sister, and cover funeral costs.
"These angels graced us for only 6 beautiful weeks but have created such a hole in their passing," the page reads.
"It is hard to see where the next smile will come from for their beloved parents."
A report is being prepared for the Coroner.
