Reality TV Star Refused Bail After Allegedly Extorting, Assaulting Tinder Date
Former Block contestant Suzi Taylor has been refused bail, accused of holding her Tinder date against his will.
The 49-year-old allegedly lured a man to a home in Brisbane's Inner North before allegedly assaulting him for money.
Queensland Police confirmed the man, 33, arrived at the property in New Farm just after midnight on Wednesday after chatting to Taylor on the dating app.
Shortly after, Taylor allegedly demanded money from him.
When he refused to comply, a second man, 22, allegedly entered the room and assaulted the older man, holding him against his will.
Taylor is also accused of assaulting her date before the duo forced the man to make an online transaction, stole his bank card and withdrew money, according to police.
The former reality star and the younger man have both been charged with extortion with intent to gain benefit with threat of detriment, deprivation of liberty, assault occasioning bodily harm and possessing dangerous drugs.
In denying bail on Friday, the magistrate said the risk of Taylor re-offending was "completely unacceptable".
She'll remain behind bars until her next court appearance on November 25.
Taylor and her friend Yvonne Cosier featured in season 11 of The Block in 2015 and took home $349,000.
