Brekky Wrap: Young Girl Awarded $250K After Being Injured On Steep Slide

All the news you need to know this Thursday.

A young student has won a $246,000 settlement after she was injured going down a slide on school grounds during recess. The then-kindergartner from New Jersey suffered injuries to her hand and arm in October 2014. The slide in question was angled at 35.2 degrees to the ground, despite a federal standard of 30 degrees. Lawyer Ciro Tufano told the New York Post the injury will last a lifetime. “People think I’m a swarmy lawyer making something out of nothing but this was a significant injury … she suffered some scarring,” he said. “It is going to affect her for the rest of her life, in one way or another". It's not clear if the slide has been removed.
