Student Tasered After Primary School Teacher Stabbed
A teacher has allegedly been stabbed by a student at a far north Queensland primary school.
Emergency services were called to the school in Townsville just before midday following reports a female teacher had been attacked in school grounds.
The woman suffered a small puncture wound to her shoulder and was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
A student of the school was also taken to hospital after being tasered by officers, police confirmed.
"A 12-year-old student at the school who was armed with a knife was taken into custody by police and a taser was deployed during that incident," District Officer Senior Sergeant Scot Warrick told reporters on Monday afternoon.
The child is said to be "in a good condition".
Warrick confirmed that specialist child protection officers are investigating.
It's not yet known what sparked the altercation.
