Perth Mum Accused Of Killing Daughters Faces Court

It was the father that made the horrific discovery on Friday night.

A Perth woman accused of killing her two young daughters has faced a bedside court hearing.

Milka Djurasovic was yesterday charged with two counts of murder after the bodies of 10-year-old Mia and six-year-old Tijiana were found inside the family's Madeley home on Friday night.

It's understood their father Nenad made the devastating discovery when he arrived home from work.

Police say Ms Djurasovic was found several hours later at a beachside carpark suffering non-life-threatening self-inflicted wounds. She was rushed to hospital where she remains in a stable condition.

Today, the 38-year-old appeared in the Perth Magistrates Court via a phone link. She was remanded in custody to reappear on the November 27.

The property on Bogdanich Way remains a crime scene, as police continue to piece together exactly what happened.

Classmates at Ashdale Primary School will today undergo counselling, as they attempt to comprehend this tragedy.

On Saturday WA Assistant Commissioner Paul Steel called it a "tragic event and our heartfelt condolences go out to the friends and family of the children"

"Tragically for first responders, finding the bodies of two young children would have been a terrible thing to have to go through," Steel said.
