Gas Bottle Sparks Emergency At Local Sports Club
A gas bottle found at a Queensland sports club has sparked an emergency situation.
Queensland Police were called to Wildley Street at Raceview, Ipswich just after 6 am on Thursday morning after a suspicious device was found by a member of the public.
Just before 8.15, an emergency was declared as a precautionary measure.
Wildley Street, Nolan Street, South Station Road and Robinson Road were all cordoned off as the bomb squad sent in a robot to inspect the device.
Queensland Police confirmed to 10 daily that the suspicious item was, in fact, a gas bottle which has since been rendered safe.
A crime scene has been established as police investigate.
