Man Charged, Accused Of Assaulting Young Girl In Kmart
A man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a six-year-old girl at the toy section of a Kmart store in Adelaide.
The girl was shopping with her mother at Rundle Mall in the CBD just before 4pm on Saturday when the alleged attack occurred.
The man allegedly crouched down and grabbed the girl from behind before shoving past an employee and fleeing the store.
The girl's mother managed to take a picture of the alleged attacker, while police tracked him on CCTV and found him a short distance away.
Officers searched the man's property and "located a quantity of child exploitation material," SA Police said in a statement.
The man was subsequently arrested and charged with aggravated indecent assault, assault and possessing child exploitation material.
The man fronted court on Monday and was refused bail. His lawyer indicated that he will contest the charges.
Nobody was injured during the incident.
