Brekky Wrap: Mother Charged, Accused Of Rubbing Heroin On Baby's Gums

A mother in the U.S. has been arrested, accused of giving her one-year-old daughter small doses of heroin to help her sleep. Kimberly Nelligan, 33, allegedly rubbed the drug residue on the child's gums at least 15 times over the course of two months before her death in 2018. The medical examiner’s office said the bub died of acute fentanyl intoxication, adding that the infant likely ingested the drug that killed her. Nelligan faces up to one year jail and a fine of up to US$2,000 for child endangerment and up to 180 days prison for the drug charge. She swore and gave the finger to the media before being released on bail.

Hundreds-of-thousands of Australians in 110 towns and cities across the country are set to strike in favour of stronger action on climate change. Organisers are demanding government and business commit to a target of net-zero carbon emissions by 2030, as well as transitioning to 100 pecent renewable energy.

A man and woman have been charged in relation to the death of NSW woman Danielle Easey. The body of the 29-year-old was found wrapped in plastic, floating in a creek near Newcastle late last month. A man, 33,  has been charged with her murder, while a woman, 32, is accused of posing as Danielle on social media to get money.
