Gangland Widow Roberta Williams Arrested In Melbourne

Roberta Williams, the former wife of gangland figure Carl Williams, has been arrested following raids in Melbourne.

The 50-year-old was led away from a Strathmore home in handcuffs and into an unmarked car on Wednesday morning, according to footage aired by Channel Nine.

Victoria Police confirmed four people were arrested as part of investigations into allegations of false imprisonment and extortion with threats to kill.

It comes after the Fraud and Extortion Squad carried out raids on properties in Craigieburn, Greensborough and Strathmore.

"A 50-year-old Strathmore woman, two Greensborough men aged 24 and 27 and a 24-year-old Craigieburn man were arrested and are currently assisting police with their enquiries," police said in a statement.

The investigation is ongoing.

A producer hired to work on a television show focusing on the Williams' family had earlier this year alleged he had been kidnapped, attacked and ordered to hand over thousands of dollars in cash to secure his freedom.
