A man and a boy have died after a gumtree fell onto their car in Victoria.The pair were driving through Sherbrooke about 5.30 last night when they were hit. The driver, in his 40's, and passenger, 10, died at the scene. Police are looking at whether wet weather played a part.

Police have found three teenagers and a child who took off with a four-wheel drive in Rockhampton in Central Queensland.Three boys aged 13 and 14 and a 10-year-old girl packed their fishing rods and cash, driving 900 kilometres before being pulled over by police near Grafton in NSW.

A JetBlue flight was reportedly evacuated after a photo of a suicide vest was AirDropped to passengers and crew over the weekend. The plane was preparing to take off from New York's Newark Airport on Saturday when a flight attendant alerted the captain to the image, according to NBC news. All passengers and all luggage was rescreened before the plane left. No arrests have been made.

Five of Australia’s largest business groups are demanding the federal government take urgent action to reform the building industry. In a letter to Industry Minister Karen Andrews, seen by The Australian, the group highlights the need to renew “public confidence” in the sector, warning that flawed state regulations and skyrocketing insurance premiums pose a threat to the economy.

Two Australians have been gored in the final bull run of Spain’s annual Pamplona festival. Both were taken to a local hospital where they are being treated for non life-threatening injuries. Sixteen people have died in the bull runs since 1910, the last in 2009.

A series of aftershocks have been recorded off the coast of Broome in Western Australia, after yesterday’s 6.6 magnitude quake. The tremor was felt as far north as Darwin and south to Perth, thankfully there was no major damage.
