Seven Girlfriends Build Mansion To Live And Retire In Together
A group of seven women have built a modern mansion to spend their retirements in.
In a video by Yitiao, the group describe their friendship as "closer than siblings" and said that the house was initially a joke about retiring together once the group entered their 60s.
The seven women began construction on the house in January of 2018 in a village in Guangzhou, a province in the south-east of the country close to Hong Kong.
The group began construction on their three-storey mansion starting with a red brick frame, surrounded by rice paddies.
The contemporary design has wide glass panels that overlook the mountains and fields surrounding the property, including a glass-box tea room extension with three glass sides.
The group plan on occupying the house full-time after their children have all grown up and say that they're each cultivating their own skillset so they can live harmoniously together.
"We joke that each of us should practice one skill so that we won't be lonely and fight with each other 10 years later," they said.
"Some can cook beautiful food, some know traditional Chinese medicine, some play instruments and some grow vegetables."
