Real Estate Agent Responds After X-Rated Typo Goes Viral

The awkward description of a home's generous pantry has caused a stir on social media, with the real estate agent mortified after an ad typo went to print.

It's every real estate agent's dream to have the phone ringing off the hook for a luxury house... but it's probably unusual for the home's pantry to be the reason behind the calls.

But an ad for a house for sale in Marleston, in Adelaide's west, caused a storm on social media, after an eagle-eyed newspaper reader spotted an amusing error in the description of the kitchen.

"The contemporary kitchen area is complete with stone bench tops, modern stainless steel appliances and loads of storage plus wank in pantry," the newspaper ad read.

The mistake was only picked up after the newspaper went to print on Thursday.

The real estate posting, advertising a "wank in pantry".

Bez Afzali, of Harcourts Seaton, spoke to 10 daily after a Facebook post of the ad went viral and is seeing the lighter side of the awkward error.

"I was like 'oh my god, how could I make such a mistake'?" Afzali said.

"We all had a really good laugh about it, it was just an innocent mistake."

He's hoping the widespread attention could actually help the home sell.

The home is listed for up to $735,000.

"It's been hectic. We've had three opens for the property, a lot of people have come through the house, and a few people have mentioned the ad... so it's worked out really well!"

While the online listing has since been corrected, the printed version can't be fixed. A photo of the typo has been liked by thousands of people on social media, after it was shared by local Instagram page ShitAdelaide.

"I've been using my pantry wrong all these years. Bring on the good times!" commented one user.

"Wow what a property description, SOLD!" commented another.
