Bear With Head Stuck In Bucket Rescued By Police

A brown bear which got its head accidentally stuck in a plastic bucket was rescued by police.

The police station received a report last Friday that a brown bear with a yellow bucket on its head showed up by the river near a road construction site in Zhiduo County, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in northwest China's Qinghai Province.

The video clips show that the brown bear is stumbling around and struggling to get rid of the bucket and then climbing up the steep slope of the river bank, with a danger of falling into the river at any time.

Brown bear is under the second class state protection in China.

After arriving at the scene, considering the bear might hurt people, the officers decided to use ropes to control the bear and then helped it to remove the bucket.

After nearly four hours of efforts, the bear was freed from the bucket. No one was hurt in the process.

According to the officers on the case, the bear was searching for food in the bucket but got its head stuck instead. The animal was released into nature.
