ABC's Emma Alberici Suffers 'Horrific' Blender Accident

ABC journalist Emma Alberici is lucky to have all five fingers after slicing her hand open in the kitchen.

Alberici confirmed the incident with an upbeat post to Twitter this morning.

"Advice: Don’t put your fingers in a stick blender blade to wash it while it’s still plugged into the power," she wrote.

Fingers survived thanks to the incredible work of surgeon & team at Prince of Wales Hospital."

"Forever grateful we live in a country so bleed with world-class medical treatment," she continued.

The Lateline host even included an image of the culprit, which includes a blood stain on the powerpoint.

"Crime scene," she responded to a follower who responded with a close-up of the blood splash.

Fans and colleagues have wished the ABC News Breakfast co-host a quick recovery.
