Outrage Over Brand's 'Weird' Mother's Day Ad
IHOP tweeted a big old "Happy Mother's Day" early Sunday morning, but it wasn't the message you would expect.
The U.S. pancake chain took the idea of a "food baby" to the next level.
“If you have pancakes in your tum tum,” the message read. “Does that make you a pancake mum mum? Happy Mother’s Day to ALL the moms out there!”
Alongside the awkward text was a photoshopped image of an ultrasound showing a massive stack of butter-topped pancakes in the womb.
The attempted joke proved to be a steaming hot fail with thousands of users hitting out at the chains attempted joke calling it 'weird' and in bad taste.
"Who approved this?" one user wrote, while another said they would like to "personally fire whoever sent this tweet out".

I've been doing pancakes all wrong apparently. Never thought to jam them into my baby maker— Mindy Be Best (@unicornmacaroni) May 12, 2019
Others pointed out that the scan is supposed to show the uterus -- among other organs -- and not the stomach.
While some suggested that the timing of the pregnancy-related 'gag' was off, given the highly polarised national debate of abortion laws.
In Georgia they consider it a pancake as soon as the egg is cracked— Tom Bown (@bown) May 12, 2019
Despite 2,300 comments --mostly calling for the company to delete the post -- and 785 retweets, IHOP is yet to respond or pull down the post
We can only guess what the Father's Day follow-up will say.
