Horrific M5 Crash Leaves Three Teens Critical

Three teens are in a critical condition following a crash in Sydney’s Southwest.

A police report suggests the car, carrying four people, crashed into the back of a bus that had stopped in the breakdown area on the M5 on Sunday night.

Emergency crews raced to the motorway between Belmore Road and King Georges Road, just before 6:30pm.

The 19-year-old female driver of the Mazda and one of her 18-year-old passengers were trapped for some time before firefighters could free them.

They and another 19 year-old passenger were treated at the scene and eventually taken to Liverpool and St George Hospital in a critical condition.

An 18-year-old male, who was in the front passenger seat, was taken to St George Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The bus driver was not injured and did not have any passengers at the time.

Crash investigators attended and established a crime scene.

They are asking anyone who witnessed the crash, especially those with dashcams, to come forward.

Eastbound traffic was affected for around an hour.
