Hundreds of vegans gathered outside Flinders Street Station at about 5.30am, holding signs and blocking cars. Demonstrators are also storming farms in Queensland and NSW. At least 20 members of an animal rights group chain themselves to equipment in an abattoir in Yangan, south-west of Brisbane this morning. The protests are inspired by the animal documentary Dominion.
