Plane Turns Around After Baby Left At Airport

A mother accidentally left her baby behind at an airport, forcing a plane to turn around mid-air to return and collect the child.

A frantic passenger on board Saudi airline flight SV832, from Dubai to Malaysia over the weekend, alerted crew once she realised what had happened -- and demanded the plane return to the airport immediately.

Flight crew were left gobsmacked after hearing the mother's excuse for wanting to head back to the King Abdul Aziz International Airport.

Her response: "I forgot my baby at the airport".

According to Gulf News, the airplane had already taken off when the passenger alerted the crew.

At this point, air-traffic officials tried to assess whether or not heading back for a baby was allowed under airline protocol.

A video on social media shows the pilot requesting permission to turn around.

“Can we come back or what?” the pilot said in the recording, according to the translation on Gulf News.

"A passenger left her baby in the terminal and refuses to continue the flight.”
