Young Girl Injured In Buggy Crash Dies In Hospital

A 10-year-old girl had died in hospital, three days after she was critically injured in a buggy crash in the NSW Illawarra region. 

The young girl was one of four people on board the 'four-wheeled all-terrain vehicle' when it crashed into a fence on a Marshall Mount property on Sunday morning.

Police have been told the driver, a 31-year-old woman, lost control of the vehicle. She was taken to Wollongong Hospital for treatment for minor injuries and underwent mandatory testing.

Two 11-year-old girls also received minor injuries.

The 10-year-old girl was airlifted to the Sydney Children's Hospital at Randwick with serious chest and head injuries. She died on Tuesday.

Investigators are continuing to investigate the events leading up to the fatal crash.
