Two Malnourished Children Were Found Locked Together In A Dog Cage
A mother and father are facing child-endangerment charges after officials found two kids locked in a dog cage.
A Texas sheriff says deputies responding to a domestic disturbance at a home discovered two young, malnourished children locked together in a dog cage while two others also were found malnourished.
Wise County Sheriff Lane Akin said deputies found the children, aged five and younger, Tuesday morning at a home near Rhome, about 20 miles (32 kilometres) northwest of Fort Worth.
Akin says two were in a locked cage about three-by-three feet (0.9-by-0.9 meters) that was in an outbuilding. The two other children were in the home.
He said there was plenty of food in the home but it was under lock and key.
The children were taken to a hospital for evaluation. The parents are facing child-endangerment charges.
