The Government will support all 76 recommendations from the banking royal commission's final report. The report was handed down on Monday, and delivered a scathing review of the toxic culture in the sector that benefits banks, not customers. A compensation scheme funded by the industry will also be set up, so those who suffered bank wrongdoing receive financial support.

Two men are feared missing in deep water flooding in Townsville. Both men are in their 20s, and were last seen near floodwaters a week ago. Police are currently searching for the pair, as the rain shows no signs of easing.

Hundreds have gathered in Melbourne to remember those who died in the Black Saturday fires. The disaster claimed the lives of 173 people a decade ago. A service at the Melbourne Royal Exhibition Centre on Monday night aimed to give survivors the strength they need to recover.

A man has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing his wife to death in their Sydney home. The man reported her death to police on Monday evening. Officers attended the scene to a home in Merrylands, where they found the woman with a wound to her chest, she died at the scene.

Model and mother-of-four Alli MacDonnell has been found dead just hours after being called a "fat, ugly c**t". MacDonnell, 36, was one of Ireland's top models and mother to four children, Alex, 15, Sara, 14, Harry, nine, and Siena, two. She was also an Autism awareness campaigner after her son was diagnosed with the condition.  "Why is it ok for a man to call a girl a fat ugly c***?????? Seriously new level of pushing someone to the edge," MacDonnell posted online just hours before she was found dead. The circumstances surrounding her death are unclear.

Four skiers have been found dead after being killed by an avalanche at an Italian ski resort. Two British nationals and a pair from France were discovered by rescue crews on Monday after a lengthy search. Eight people have died in avalanches this ski season in Italy alone.

Investigators have found a body in the plane carrying missing footballer Emiliano Sala. Images of the body were captured by a remotely-operated camera that was exploring the wreckage. The body is yet to be formally identified.
