Australian Woman's Sexual Assault In New York City Captured On CCTV

The 27-year-old walked almost two kilometres to the nearest police station to report the crime, according to the NYPD.

The woman had reportedly moved to Brooklyn's East Williamsburg neighbourhood four months ago, and was walking home when attacked by the male suspect who was caught on camera.

The video footage showed the man grabbing the woman's arms and pinning her against a wall near Richardson Street and Kingsland Avenue, while she kicked him and tried to fight him off.

An NYPD spokesperson said the attack occurred on Thursday about 2.20am (EST), four blocks from the woman's apartment.
