Why MAC Cosmetics Is Permanently Dropping The Price On Their Popular Products
The pricing changes will start from today and have been introduced to make sure the brand stays competitive in a competitive beauty market.
It's good news for MAC Cosmetics fans with the brand announcing it will reduce the Australian prices for their lipsticks, eyeshadows and mascaras.
From today, their lipsticks will be $30 (previously $36), single eyeshadows will be $29 (previously $33) and their single wand mascara will be $39 (previously $42).
Make-up Artistry Nicole Thompson said there is no longer a need to ask your bestie to stock up on MAC products for you when visiting overseas destinations, namely the USA where the brand originated from.
The move is set to make the cosmetics brand a more competitive local player in the already overcrowded beauty market with the pricing change closing the gap on what the cult products are available for overseas.
It comes as the brand announces according to their sales research that they are Australia's most popular lipstick brand as well as respectively taking out the title of the most popular nude lipstick with their shade Velvet Teddy, as well as the most popular red lipstick with Ruby Woo.
Many have taken to social media asking whether or not it applies to the whole lipstick range to which MAC Cosmetics have confirmed it does.
Fans of the brand were thrilled by the news, with one writing: "Love this and my wallet does too."
"It’s about time. The mark up from the US prices is ridiculous. I always stock up whenever I travel overseas," another pointed out.
"Hasn’t been these prices for at least the last 40 years!" added a third.
The brand further sell an average of one lipstick per minute in Australia so if there's ever been a time to grab yourself a new lippie, we'd say now is the time.
