Reese Witherspoon's Surprising Bargain Beauty Hack
You can have all the money in the world but sometimes only the cheap stuff will do!
Reese Witherspoon has long been a star we'd want to hang out with -- after all, who else gets steaming drunk at awards shows and arrested for disorderly behaviour after "one too many glasses of wine". Add to that the fact she's part of the best group of celeb girlfriends ever, the cast of Big Little Lies and well, she's just fun, right?
She's also someone to admire, as a mum of three, a social activist and a founding member of the #TimesUp movement, as well as a voice against the gender pay gap.
But though her achievements are wide and varied, she is legit JUST LIKE US. You see, Reese Witherspoon -- she of the iconic bend and snap -- still likes a bargain when it comes to her skincare.
All hail Queen Reese. Super rich and successful and still shopping for bargains.
In a new interview with Refinery29, Reese revealed that she loves nothing more than a bit of Cetaphil lotion to clean her Hollywood-dominating face.
"I use the face wash," she says of the brand's Daily Cleanser, $11.89, "and I travel with it."
And look, she's not the only one -- Kim Kardashian West is also a fan of the cleanser, which is recommended by dermatologists around the world -- a good indication that the cheap as chips cleanser is a good buy for anyone with sensitive skin.
Of course Reese is a spokesperson for Elizabeth Arden, so their skincare gets a look in too. Which isn't quite as cheap.
"I started using the [Elizabeth Arden] Retinol Ceramide Capsules ($150 for 60 capsules) like a year ago, and I had never used retinol before and it has really changed the tone of my skin. I used to have a really uneven tone," she said.
She also swears by their lipstick -- "I really like the Elizabeth Arden in Red Door Red. I don't like really matte lipstick. I like lipsticks that last for a long time, and if I line my lips it does stay longer."
Another budget-friendly beauty pick Witherspoon raves about: Revlon's Extra Curl Eyelash Curler. "It's as good as any eyelash curler I've ever used," she said of the bargain curler that will set you back just $12.99.
Reese isn't the only A-lister who's partial to a Priceline (or similar) purchase. Victoria Beckham often reaches for a pack of Bioderma Sensibio H2O wipes when she's cleaning her face, and she loves to slather on a bit of Weleda Skin Food which retails for $22.95. Shanina Shaik says she loves Maybelline's Total Temptation Mascara -- which you can pick up from Priceline for only $21.95.
