Where To Buy Prince Charles' Rather Jazzy Swim Trunks
The heir to the British throne was spotted taking a dip in Barbados -- and his choice of swimwear is causing a stir.
The 70-year-old royal is currently touring the Caribbean with his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, but they both took time out from their busy schedule for a quick trip to the beach.
Camilla Parker Bowles opted for a simple black one-piece swimsuit while the future king sported something a bit jazzier: pastel-coloured paisley print swim shorts.
And doesn't he look royally fab, ladies and gentlemen!
We did some digging and discovered that Charles' swimwear of choice is by the fairly posh brand Vilebrequin, the "original swimsuit tailor" founded in Saint-Tropez in 1971 according to the website.
The bad news is that the Prince's pair of blue, pink and pistachio-hued shorts aren't on sale anymore. Not because they've all sold out but because they're really, really old. Like, at least 12 years old.
According to Express, the patterned trunks are from the brand's early to mid-2000s collection but are nevertheless still bang on trend.
There are two takeaways from this information. One, Charles is a fan of vintage fashion, and two, at about $350 a pop the thrifty royal was certainly getting the maximum miles out of his swimwear.
You too can suit up (or strip off) for the seaside like a prince -- Vilebrequin is available at The Iconic (where they're currently on sale!) or you can head to the brand's official site to shop their full 182-piece range.
'Cause who doesn't want to take a dip dressed like a future king? Not us!
Just for fun, here's a bonus pic of a younger Charles in the surf at Bondi. Maybe he still has these swimmers, too? Who knows! Enjoy!
