The New Face Of Benefit Cosmetics Is An Irish Model Who Has Down Syndrome

Kate Grant, of Northern Ireland, was announced as the ambassador of the brand's new product, a liquid eyeliner, on Thursday.

The 20-year-old stunner is now the proud face of the just-released Roller Liner and can be seen werkin' it in several ads on the brand's Instagram page.

The new 'Benebabe' shared her excitement over on her own Insta, saying, "This week has been amazing thank you @benefitcosmeticsuk. Make sure you all get this amazing liner!"

Grant's mum, Diedre, chatted to Metro about her daughter's big news, and what it means for others living with a disability.

“She is paving the way for people coming behind her,” she said.

Deidre added that Grant is "aware" of her boundary-breaking role and "wants to spread awareness about inclusion for people with disabilities."

"That is what she has done from the very start,” she added. “She is aware that she is able to do that in a way some of her friends cannot. She is using her voice for them.”

A rep for Benefit Ireland told The Daily Mail that they came across Grant back in mid-2018 and knew they wanted to work with her right then and there.

They loved her "infectious" energy and "incredible zest for life" which in their eyes made her the perfect fit for the brand.

"The beauty industry is changing and we love that people like Kate are leading the way," the rep added.

Grant teased her upcoming appointment on her Insta page in November last year saying, "On the countdown for @benefitcosmeticsuk to launch their new product... any guesses what it might be??"

Grant is no stranger to the limelight, having taken the crown in 2018's Teen Ultimate Beauty Of The World competition, making her the first woman with Down Syndrome to do so.

Her win made headlines around the world and signalled a positive change within the pageant industry. Grant captioned her winner's snap on Insta, "inclusion is beautiful" -- we heartily agree!
