Kendall Jenner Just Reinvented Eyeliner In The Weirdest Way
It's called 'Negative space eyeliner' and WTF??
Kendall Jenner, along with four of the other K's in her fam -- Kris, Kourtney, Kim and Khloe -- may have scooped the Reality Show of 2018 award at the E! People's Choice Awards on Sunday, but we reckon her beauty game was worth a nod, too.
The 23-year-old took a departure from the norm when it came to her eye makeup, opting for an edgy yet chic 'negative space' eyeliner lewk.
WTF is negative space eyeliner?? It's basically a deconstructed take on traditional eye makeup techniques, in particular the winged cat eye.
Case in point: Kendall's PCA beat.
Ms Jenner swiped a grass green hue along the waterline and inner corner of her eye, then finished by adding a dash on the outer corner of her brow bone.
The Victoria's Secret model kept the rest of her face neutral and glowy, with a touch of blush and a nude lip.
While we're not sure of the exact product Kenny used, we love Urban Decay's Razor Sharp Water-Resistant Longwear Liquid Eyeliner in Kush ($36 from Mecca Maxima.)
And Kendall didn't just stop with her eyes, either, adding a swipe of green to her right collarbone -- see the bottom corner of her Insta story?
Her MIND, right?
Emma Watson was a pioneer of the negative space eyeliner trend, rocking just the outer edges of a cat eye back in 2017.
You can dupe Em's look at home with your normal black liquid liner -- just try to keep a steady hand, and a fair few q-tips nearby!
Speaking of q-tips, that's exactly what Lily Collins' makeup artist used to achieve her 'broken' cat eye for the InStyle Awards in October.
Fiona Siles reached for Lancôme Grandiose Liner ($58 from Sephora) -- the fine felt tip is perfect for creating seamless lines -- then swiped through the tail of the cat eye with a q-tip to create the negative space.
