There's A Brand New Way To Keep Your Wang In Your Pants
Alexander Wang, that is.
It's the collab that just lends itself to jokes. Fashion designer Alexander Wang, is teaming up with Uniqlo for a range of undies -- no word on a release date in Australia yet but keep your privates on high alert.
The New York designer is using Uniqlo’s special Heattech fabric for the range -- the special fabrication used to make their range of cold weather clothing. "Heattech is a program created out of innovation, function, and utility," the designer told Vogue. "It’s something that I’ve always been very inspired by, by the advancement and innovation in fabrication. I wanted to think about it in a way where even if it wasn’t just worn on the inside -- if you wore it as a top as something to lounge around in -- you feel like there’s a style, an aesthetic that could stand on its own."
The designer told Vogue that he buys his “socks, underwear, those everyday essential items,” at Uniqlo. “It’s not fussy, it’s pure, there’s quality to it.”
And now he's adding his own range of bodysuits, tees, leggings, bras, and briefs for men and women to the mix. There will be a range of neutral colors and some in neon green, which is apparently his favourite colour. And everything is made with that Heattech fabric. So they will be snuggly against your, erm, wang... if you have one.
“The thing that I love about these pieces is that they can really be worn on so many different occasions. Wear the bra top with a high-waisted jean and a denim jacket,” he said. '
That of course works with Wang's general aesthetic -- less is definitely more.
Ten years ago, Wang worked with Uniqlo on a selection of easy ready-to-wear pieces -- so it's actually their 10 year anniversary.
And nothing says congratulations like a new pair of undies.
