Bella Hadid On Her Idol And Inspiration
'I would do anything for her'
Model of the moment Bella Hadid has revealed there are only two women in the world that she will pay attention to. One of them is her mother Yolanda. The other -- British supermodel Naomi Campbell.
Bella, 21, walked in Naomi's Fashion For Relief Show in Cannes on May 13 and her excitement was palpable. Bella virtually floated down the runway -- her face aglow with what could only be described as joy. And it's no wonder really when you consider that Naomi, 47, is her life-long mentor and role model.
Before the show Bella could barely contain herself, revealing her feelings about Naomi in the sweetest of ways.
“She’s one of my idols and she’s been a big part of my career. I would do anything for her, if she asked me 100 times to be in this show, I’d do it for the rest of my life," she told WWD. "When Naomi tells me something to do, she’s probably one of the few people besides my mom who I would listen to and take advice from."
Like we say, Bella pretty much skipped down the runway during the show which was designed to raise the profiles of and funds for a number of charities including Save The Children and Time's Up.
The show took place in the stunning Cannes Mandelieu Hangar. And, just as in previous years, Naomi was joined on the catwalk by a swag of her closest friends who just happen to be the world's most beautiful women -- conveniently enough. Naomi herself closed the show with Bella and Russian model Natalia Vadianova by her side and Maria Borges Canadian superstar Winnie Harlow bringing up the rear.
The event was attended by dozens of famous faces including Bella's close friend Hailey Baldwin, Eva Herzigova and Diane Kruger all of whom also attended a gala dinner the night before. The party must have wrapped relatively however because all of the women appeared the next day looking extraordinary. Perfect genes? Yes. But eight hours of beauty sleep is still required.
