Meghan And Harry Reportedly Booed During First UK Appearance Together

The reaction was mixed as Meghan Markle made her first official public appearance since she and her husband announced they'd be stepping down as senior royals.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped out in the pouring rain to attend the annual Endeavour Fund Awards at London’s Mansion House.

It was the first time the British public have seen the couple out together since their shock announcement in early January.

The royals were all smiles as they were met by a cheering crowd outside the venue. But there was one person who didn't sound particularly pleased to see them.

As reported by The Mirror, amid all the cheers one onlooker was heard letting out a loud boo. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly appeared unfazed by it, however, with Meghan even telling the audience inside the event, 'it's very nice to be back'.

Upon their decision to step back as senior royals, Prince Harry will be giving up his official patronages in order to move to Canada. However, Meghan and Harry will continue to maintain their links with a number of charities and organisations, including the Endeavour Fund.

The Endeavour Fund supports wounded Servicemen and women and has long been a passion project of Harry's. The couple each presented awards and made speeches at the event.

Speaking at the ceremony, Harry said, "Some of you tonight have told me you have my back, well I'm also here to tell you I've always got yours."

Meghan told the crowd, "It's very nice to be back. It's the third year I've had the incredible fortune of joining my husband here." She said that her and Harry had been watching the nominee's videos “all the way from Canada.”

'Call Me Harry': Prince Drops Title At One Of His Last Royal Duties

Prince Harry has kicked off his last round of royal duties on an informal note, making it clear to an audience in Scotland that they should simply call him 'Harry'.

The couple spent most of the event arm in arm and by each other's sides. Harry looked sharp in a navy blue suit and tie, matching with Meghan's striking $2649 turquoise dress by fashion designer Victoria Beckham.

While in the UK, the couple are set to attend a string of public events over the coming days as they tie up their duties. Meghan will be making a solo public appearance at an International Women's Day event on Sunday.
