Kayla Boyd Was Supposed To Be On The Dally M Red Carpet, Her Unborn Baby Had Other Plans
The wife of Brisbane Broncos captain Darius Boyd was looking forward to showing off her baby bump on the red carpet.
Kayla Boyd even had her gorgeous gown, ready to go, a custom Oglialoro Couture gown that put her baby bump front and centre.
But anyone who has been pregnant before would know that babies have plans of their own and they really don't care if you're due to appear on a red carpet on Wednesday night.
So while the pair where scheduled to appear at the event, the early arrival of their new baby daughter on Saturday meant the now parents of two were no longer able to attend the event.
They announced the arrival of their daughter, Romi Yvés, and sister to Willow Kamila on Instagram over the weekend.
"SHE’S HERE: This little lady decided she was ready to come earth-side early, gracing us with her presence yesterday, at 36 weeks 6 days - 28th September 7:40am on her nana’s birthday and the day before my birthday," Kayla wrote.
"So today, as I embark on my journey as a mama of two, turning 32, I’ve been blessed with the greatest birthday gift of all. I’ve been soaking up every moment of this newborn goodness in hospital, 32 couldn’t get any better!"
Just hours before the WAGs started gathering on the red carpet, Kayla shared a photo of the gown she was planning to wear had she been at the Dally M awards tonight.
"BTS of what was going to be my amazing gown for tonight. Was so excited to rock the bump on the red carpet... sorry I wasn't able to showcase it, little Romi had an agenda of her own!" she wrote.
So while Kayla didn't get to show off her bump on the red carpet tonight, with little Romi in her arms, we bet she wouldn't have it any other way.
Welcome to the world baby Romi.
