Elly Finally Responds To Rumours She Knew Matt Agnew Before 'The Bachelor'
Elly was the front-runner from the beginning of the season and it was speculated she had an 'unfair advantage' before appearing on 'The Bachelor'.
It was previously reported that Elly Miles "knew Matt" before appearing on the show and that a number of the women in the house were upset by the apparent news, suggesting it gave her an unfair advantage.
"Most of the girls knew Elly had history with Matt and it caused a lot of tension in the house," a source told New Idea.
"The girls eventually confronted her about it, and she denied the rumours. But everyone knew it had happened and started to despise her for having an unfair advantage. The whole thing really upset her."
Yet since exiting the show on Wednesday night, the Newcastle nurse has responded to the rumours, telling 10 daily that she definitely did not know Matt, who is based in Melbourne, before the show.
"I was at work and I was coming into having my break and I just like, get tagged in it [the article on social media] and its like 'breaking news'," she said.
I'm like, no way. No, I don't know where that's coming from. It's hilarious. No, I didn't know Matt at all. Oh my gosh.
Network 10 also said the rumours when untrue, when a spokesperson said, "This story is completely false. Matt and Elly did not know each other prior to filming 'The Bachelor'."
Following her departure from the show, Elly told Studio 10, "I was quite clearly really shocked at the time" but added she had not fallen in love with Matt during her time on the show.
But Elly said that immediately following her exit and her return home, she was left very upset by Matt's decision.
"This is what I did the night I got sent home. I went for my little drive and had a little cry. Then I came home and put my flano on and my trackies," she said.
"I went to the hotel and ate a block of chocolate at 4am crying on Snapchat to my friends. That's the reality, that's what happened."
Yet not long after, Elly went on and European holiday which took her mind off Matt choosing to end her time on the show.
"It [the holiday] was amazing. I've never had so much fun in my life. I loved being amongst new cultures on the other side of the world and seeing how things are done there," she told 10 daily.
'The Bachelor' airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm, only on 10, 10 Play and WIN Networks.
