In-Store Photos Of Discovery Garden Are Here And Woolies Shoppers Are Freaking Out

Just when you thought you could put your Ooshies away, never to see the light of day again, Woolworths is set to launch its next collectables craze.

While Discovery Garden -- a sustainable spin the follows the wild success of the Lion King themed Ooshies -- is yet to officially launch in Woolworths stores, it hasn't stopped avid shoppers from sharing photos online in the lead up.

Posting in a Facebook group Woolworths Little Garden / Discovery Garden, shopper Alix explained she managed to snap up two seedlings from her local grocery store despite the promotion not having started yet.

When she was questioned by fellow group members about how she was able to get the highly sought after collectables on Tuesday, she explained she spotted them in the fruit section.

"I got them from Noosa. I took two [plants] to the cash register with me. I put them up with my groceries and I asked the girl how much I had to spend to get two," she wrote.

"She said she had no idea so she rang her bell and called another staff member over. The second lady came and said, 'I’ve got no idea, but your welcome to take them, I just work here, I have no idea' she was laughing.

"So the lady serving me put them in the top of my grocery bag."

Fellow group member Karley further shared a photo of what the collector cases will look like.

"Here's our first sneak peak of what the Discovery Garden will look like. With 24 plants to collect!!! With rumours saying that stock is in stores and ready for launch on September 4th (tomorrow)," she wrote on Tuesday.

A number of group members added that they had rushed out to their local stores to see if the tiny seedlings were available yet but had no luck, despite the recent Wooworths catalogue stating the promotion starts today.

"Starts next week Wednesday the 11th. Only know because a family member works at Woolies and is in charge of this promo," wrote group member Jodie.

Woolworths announced the arrival of Discovery Garden in August, as a follow on from their wildly popular Lion King themed Ooshies.

For every $40 spent in store, shoppers receive one of 24 collectable seedlings in a biodegradable pot with the promotion coming off the back of the Little Garden promotion that was hugely successful in New Zealand.

"Woolworths is pleased to confirm that Woolworths Discovery Garden will officially launch on Wednesday, 11 September to give Australians of all ages the opportunity to grow their very own fresh food," a Woolworths spokesperson told 10 daily.

"We look forward to sharing more details of this community program next week."
