'My Bridesmaid Posted A Photo Of My Dress On Facebook Before The Wedding'

Any woman who has been a bridesmaid knows the job comes with a lot of unspoken rules. And when it comes to no-gos, at the top of the list would be sharing a photo of the bride in her wedding dress before said wedding.

Yet a bride-to-be has found herself in this exact situation, posting to Mumsnet to ask whether others would be 'sad' about this happening to them or if she 'needs to get a grip'.

The woman, who goes by the username 'Titsntats', explained, "After trying on a lot of different dresses I finally found the one, something I never thought I would due to being very body conscious and anxious."

When Titsntats, who is due to get married soon, went back for her final fitting at the weekend, one of her bridesmaids came along. When she got home after her appointment, she noticed a post on Facebook.

"I saw that she had posted a photo of me in the dress on Facebook (during the appointment so it had already been on an hour or two when I saw it) and tagged my partner in it saying she bets he couldn’t wait to marry me and how lovely my dress is," she wrote.

While the bride had enough reason to lose it at this point, the real clincher came when she asked her bridesmaid to remove the picture from Facebook.

"Her response was ‘it doesn’t matter if he [the groom] has seen it, he’s a man so he will have forgotten what it looks like in five minutes time’. My dad had also seen it as well and it was going to be a surprise for him on the day too."

Ouch.

The woman went on to explain she doesn't know "what to do" or "how to feel" about the situation.

I am so gutted that it now won’t be a surprise to my partner or my dad. She knew how much that meant to me and the only thing I had asked for was that details of how I will look on the day were kept a surprise from my dad and partner.

And to make a bad situation worse, the bride had paid for the dress in installments, now being fully paid off. She now has no time to purchase another wedding dress and do the alterations that goes with it.

"Someone tell me I will stop feeling like this soon!" the bride concluded her post.

Commenters were quick to come to the bride's defence, stating that she has every reason to be angry and even suggesting sacking her bridesmaid.

"She's a cow and should no longer be your bridesmaid. Your day will still be special though. I promise!" commenter NannyOgg wrote.

"She a massive b*tch or a complete idiot, I'd be furious and you are not unreasonable in the slightest! Did she take it down? If not report the image," IceCreamSoda99 added.

"She 100 per cent knew what she was doing. It's common knowledge no one sees the dress let alone the groom! I'd be furious!" chipscheesegravy also wrote.

The bride went on to explain, "No I haven't officially sacked her yet, know I need to but just don't have the energy to deal with her and find the words. Will have to do it soon though."

If there was ever a time to call a bride a bridezilla, this well and truly wouldn't be one of them. So what would you do if you were the bride?
