So, It Looks Like Meghan And Harry Broke A World Record With Their New Instagram Account

ICYMI -- royal parents-to-be Meghan Markle And Prince Harry launched a brand new Instagram account on Wednesday.

Their handle is @sussexroyal and in case you were wondering if it's legit, their bio reads, "The official Instagram account of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex" with a link to the official royal website.

And as they're a couple that doesn't do things by halves, it seems as though their new social media venture has, in fact, broken a world record.

No, it's not for sharing the 'Cutest First Post' -- although their album of 10 hand-picked photos is indeed divine.

Nor is it for 'The Most Surprising New Account' -- we didn't see that coming, you cheeky Sussexes!

Up until now, the royal newlyweds have shared the @kensingtonroyal account with Harry's big bro Will and his wife Kate.

Meg and Haz have, by our findings, scooped the Guinness World Record for 'Fastest Time To Gain One Million Followers On Instagram'.

Yep, it's a lengthy title but the Duke and Duchess may have done it. According to the GWR official website, the current record holder is one Kang Daniel from South Korea.

The reality TV star-turned-pop-star claimed the title on January 2, 2019, after reaching a cool one mil in 11 hours and 36 minutes.

But Meghan and Harry have blown Mr Daniel's record out of the water three months later, by charging past a million followers in just six hours.

Phew, that's fast work, guys.

The Sussex's can thank celebs such as Blake Lively, Priyanka Chopra and David Beckham for clicking 'Follow' -- as well as all of us, of course.

The couple's new account marks ex-actor Meghan Markle's return to Insta, after she shut down her personal account -- @meghanmarkle -- in early 2018 before marrying her Prince.

It's also a sign that Harry and Meghan are officially stepping out on their own and forming their own identity apart from the other royal power couple William and Kate.

There's clearly no hard feelings on the Cambridge's part over Meghan and Harry's move if their cheerful "welcome to Instagram!" post is anything to go by.

Princess Eugenie also gave her "cousins" a cute shout-out, sharing a throwback snap of their engagement photocall in 2017.

The @sussexroyal account also may be a goldmine for adorable happy snaps of the royal couple's firstborn, who is due anytime now. Only time will tell!
