Mum's Brilliant Cleaning 'Challenge' Goes Viral
A mum has shared a crafty way to call out her kids' -- and her husband's -- sloppy cleaning game.
When Miranda Crimbing noticed that she, like many mums, was bearing the brunt of the household chores she decided to take action.
Instead of scolding her kids and hubby for not pulling their weight, Crimbring went deep. She went dark. She went devious. And we love it.
The smart mama strategically planted a piece of rubbish on the floor of the family bathroom to see if anyone would do the right thing and pick it up and pop it in the bin.
Naturally, no one touched it -- little did they know that they were missing out on the US$5 bill -- that's about $7 in Aussie money -- that was stuck to the bottom of said piece of rubbish.
Gives new meaning to 'from trash to treasure,' no?
"Well, while trying to prove a point to my kids, we’ve just surpassed the 48hr mark of the 'who will pick up the random piece of trash that they KNOW isn't supposed to be there' challenge..." she posted on Facebook along with snaps of the trash and treasure in question.
"Between the kids AND the husband, and MULTIPLE trips in and out of the bathroom, this little piece of heaven may just be in it for the long haul! ???♀️ #easymoney #justdotherightthing #decorativefeature #stopthemadness," she added.
Crimbring's post has since racked up 170 thousand shares -- and counting -- and people are praising her ingenious act.
Other mums can't wait to try Crimbring's strategy in their own homes.
We bet Crimbring's little ones and her husband are feeling pretty silly right about now ... but at least they'll tidy up from now on, right?
