Prince Harry Opens Up About Fatherhood In Passionate Speech
The dad-to-be gave a sweet shout-out to his unborn bub in his address at the Commonwealth Youth Roundtable in London on Wednesday.
The 34-year-old took to the podium at the event to speak to a room full of youth leaders about their "huge opportunity" to create change in the world.
The prince -- who became the Commonwealth Youth Ambassador in 2018 -- touched on the issue of mental health and the need for more awareness and support and less negative stigma.
"As I have spoken to young people on my travels, one of the recurring themes is the lack of mental health support for those under 30 and the remaining stigma and absence of services available," he said.
He went on to say that all health is interconnected -- our mental health, our planet’s health and the health of our communities -- and urged young people to continue breaking down barriers and driving positive change.
The redhead got personal when he referred to his impending fatherhood and how that's impacted his world view.
As someone who is about to become a father, I am acutely aware of our shared responsibility to make this world more resilient and its inhabitants more accountable for the next generation.
He and his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, are expecting their first child in the northern spring, which is March. The pair announced their happy news at the beginning of their royal tour down under back in October 2018.
In keeping with tradition, there's no word yet on the gender of the royal bub -- we'll all just have to wait for the big day to find out.
In meantime, it's abundantly clear that baby Sussex is very much on Prince Harry's mind.
