Boo, Social Media's Most Loved Dog, Has Died
The fluffy pooch passed away in his sleep on January 19.
Boo's owner, San Francisco-based Facebook employee Irene Ahn, shared the sad news on the pup's social media accounts causing hearts around the globe to break.
"Dearest friends of Boo, With deepest sadness I wanted to share that Boo passed away in his sleep early this morning," she wrote.
Boo is the happiest dog I’ve ever met. He was so easy going that we never had to bother with training. He made the manliest of men squeal with delight over his cuteness and made everyone laugh with his quirky, tail wagging personality.
In the post, Ahn mentioned that Boo, "showed signs of heart issues" after her other pup Buddy passed away in September 2017.
"We think his heart literally broke when Buddy left us. He hung on and gave us over a year. But it looks like it was his time, and I’m sure it was a most joyous moment for them when they saw each other in heaven," she wrote.
Thousands of Boo's fans have filled his Facebook and Instagram pages with love and condolences following his passing.
The adorable Pomeranian rose to fame in 2006 after Ahn created a Facebook page to share her four-legged friend's adventures.
Boo -- and Buddy -- loved dressing up and just generally being super cute, winning them fans across the world.
The tiny pooch counts several celebrities as pals, including Ke$ha -- who called him her "new boyfriend in a tweet in 2010 -- Martha Stewart, Anderson Cooper and Liam Payne.
Rest in peace, dear Boo.
