Instagram's Latest Update Has Left Users Traumatised

The feature in question is horizontal scrolling, forcing users to navigate their Instagram feed in much the same way as they watch Instagram stories.

The update will see users tapping on their screen in order to see the next post rather than simply scrolling down.

Needless to say, people don't like change and they made their anger heard loud and clear.

Amazingly the update only went out to a sample group of iPhone users and was later quickly reversed.

The head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, ending up apologising to users with a series of tweets telling them the update wasn't supposed to reach so many people.

The company backed up Mosseri’s explanation and they too apologised.

"Due to a bug, some users saw a change to the way their feed appears today," Instagram told the New York Times. "We quickly fixed the issue and feed is back to normal. We apologise for any confusion."
