Meghan Markle's Releasing A Cookbook For Charity And It Looks Delish

The Duchess has been cooking up a storm -- and it’s all for a good cause.

Everyone's new favourite royal, Meghan Markle, has had a secret book project on the boil for months, and no, it's not a tell-all about her royal romance with Prince Harry (we wish). In fact it's even sweeter than that: it's a cookbook for charity.

Titled Together: Our Community Cookbook, the tasty tome is a collection of recipes by some seriously strong and inspiring female cooks whose story clearly struck a chord with the Duchess.

Following the devastating and deadly Grenfell Tower fire in June 2017, these women have been gathering to cook, grieve and rebuild their lives at a communal kitchen in West London.

Meghan has been paying private visits to the kitchen since the beginning of 2018, and by all accounts the delicious homemade fare has both tickled Her Royal Highness' taste buds and warmed her heart.

"I immediately felt connected to this community kitchen; it is a place for women to laugh, grieve, cry and cook together," she said on the The Royal Foundation website.

Melding cultural identities under a shared roof, it creates a space to feel a sense of normalcy -- in its simplest form, the universal need to connect, nurture, and commune through food, through crisis or joy -- something we can all relate to…

The Duchess has contributed the foreword to the book which you can buy on  September 20 -- that's if we haven't nabbed all the copies first. It's every foodie for themselves, you know.

If the cookbook's royal connection isn't enough to make you add-to-cart stat there's an even better reason: all the proceeds will help keep the kitchen open for up to seven days a week and to widen its reach to others in the community.

Meghan's venture into the culinary world shouldn't come as that much of a surprise, after all the now-Duchess used to pen her thoughts on food, travel, fashion and beauty on her very own lifestyle blog, The Tig.

Somewhat sadly Meghan left the site behind before she joined the royal family, but perhaps she's found a new outlet to express her love for all things yum. It also begs the question, does HRH hit the kitchen at the Palace?

We might never learn what Meghan likes to whip up for brekkie, we do know that reactions to her new cookbook on social media are more than positive.

Twitter users are "proud" and "happy" with the news, and are calling Meghan a "true blessing." Now that's a rave review.

From what we can see the cookbook might just live up to the hype as the tucker looks gosh-darn delicious. The 50 recipes are a mix from Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean.
