Jennifer Hawkins Shares Sweet Farewell To Her Myer Role
What a class act.
When news of Jennifer Hawkins' rumoured departure from Myer broke on August 10 everyone held their breath. Would the split between the major department store and Hawkins, their public face of more than a decade, be an acrimonious one?
Hawkins for her part didn't comment at the time, instead enjoying some R&R with hubby Jake Wall in the Maldives.
Now, the former Miss Universe has taken to Instagram to officially confirm that her time at Myer is coming to an end. In a heartfelt post on August 17 the 34-year-old reflected on her "extraordinary" 12 years with the Aussie company, which began as a short three-month contract.
It’s now been an extraordinary relationship of 12 years! I’ve always been very proud and extremely grateful to work with such a beautiful and iconic company."
The blonde beauty went on to thank everyone from the staff to the designers before announcing that she'll exit her role in November, after the spring racing carnival events including Myer's Fashions On The Field.
Hawkins, who launched her award-winning tanning range Jbronze in 2013, stated that it was "time to move onto a new chapter in my life."
"Myer will always hold a special place in my heart and I wish the Myer team every success for the future. Lots of love," she wrote.
Hawkin's decision to part ways with Myer comes after the company announced two new brand ambassadors in Aussie model and influencer Elyse Knowles and three-time AFL premiership player Josh Gibson on July 28.
Newcomers Knowles and Gibson are set to be joined by Hawkins, as well as long-time spokespeople Rachael Finch and Kris Smith, in launching the Myer Runway Series at the Sydney City store on August 23.
