Victoria Beckham On That Royal Wedding Gossip: Also Tequila Shots

And a little talk about her no smile policy

Victoria Beckham is discreet. Seriously so. Sure she'll answer questions about her own life if she feels like it, but when it comes to her famous friends' lives -- the answer is a firm no. A courteous one. But a no nonetheless.

So forget about the royal wedding of the century. VB will not be discussing details with you. Not today. Not ever. She has gone so far as to say the marriage of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, now officially known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, was pretty much perfect in every way and yes, she loved every second.

“It was such a beautiful, incredible wedding. It was just the best day," Victoria told the Evening Standard. "They looked so happy, and everybody was just so happy for them. Meghan seems like a genuinely lovely woman, who really loves him. It felt very real, very honest.”

On the day of the wedding Victoria wore one of her own designs. The navy midi-dress with split sleeves from an upcoming pre-spring/summer 2019 collection. The dress has garnered so many inquiries since that VB is now looking into whether she can bring the on sale date forward. Clearly a huge swathe of women LOVED it.

But a large number of them weren't so enthusiastic about Victoria's somewhat subdued expression on the day.

"You looked as miserable as owt," posted one to VB's Instagram account. "Embarrassing as all the Americans looked happy to be there and you looked like you couldn’t wait to get away. Should have stayed at home."

"You looked so miserable though," posted another. And on and on. But Victoria is remaining graceful on this topic and treating it in much the same way as she's treating the royal wedding -- which is to say she won't be commenting -- not at all.

One thing she is willing to reveal: her tipple of choice is tequila. Yes. Straight. Only with ice. In fact, London Restaurant Scott’s has created “The VB”, a straight-up 1942 Don Julio Tequila with one over-sized ice cube.

“I was very specific about the ice cube," says Victoria. It had to be giant. They’re actually very difficult to make, those ice cubes. But really chic.” And also, anything but miserable.
